Our Work

ESRM is an integrated project that aims to streamline delivery of information, R & D, training, investment and funding to pastoral properties and rangelands communities. The project has a vision to foster healthy and resilient ecological systems supporting profitable regional industries and vibrant communities.

The vision is being achieved through a number of initiatives that are being rolled out in the Gascoyne and Pilbara regions. The Gascoyne Catchments Project allowed ESRM to develop relationships and work with a motivated and proactive group of pastoralists on a whole catchment scale to deliver targeted funding for on ground works designed to improve the sustainability and productivity of participating properties.

The Pilbara Planning project aims to combine business, livestock and environmental plans to provide the pastoralist with a holistic property action plan which takes into account all aspects of management. Currently this project is in a pilot stage but it is hoped to be extended to all properties in the Fortescue catchment areas within the next year.

Most recently ESRM has recieved 1.3 millions dollars in  funding through Rangelands NRM  WA to deliver Caring for our Country (CfoC) projects in the Fortescue Catchment in the Pilbara and the Lake MacLeod Catchment north of Carnarvon. More information on these projects will be available on the ESRM website by mid November.
